Summer, Travel and Fun: Giving Yourself Permission to Rest

Many people only allow themselves proper rest once every task on their list is done. The problem is that this list rarely stays empty. Postponing genuine recovery again and again puts you at risk of long-term exhaustion.

Fun and rest are not a reward for hard work. They are a requirement for staying healthy and capable over the long term. Our nervous system needs conscious periods of relaxation to regenerate.

How to make space for real rest this summer:

Schedule downtime deliberately instead of leaving it to chance.

Distinguish between passive distraction, such as scrolling, and genuine recovery, such as a walk or a hobby you enjoy.

Allow yourself to do something purely for joy, without needing it to be productive.

Communicate your need for a break clearly to the people around you.

Rest is not a weakness. It is an investment in your long-term health. If you would like support learning to give yourself that space again, I would be happy to help. You can book your appointment directly at www.greenliving-coaching.ch.
